Overview

Join us for a leisurely, guided walking tour of our picturesque and historic Town of Marshall, NC and the real-life filming locations that were used for the exterior Clanton, NC scenes in the Prime Video series The Peripheral* (based on the novel by William Gibson). See what it was like when a major studio series production came to a tiny town in the remote Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina.

Details

Tours are currently offered on Sundays with 24-hour advanced booking. Private tours are available. Parking and tour starting point are on Blannahasset Island, which served as basecamp for the 250-person film crew for three months in late 2021. Exact GPS coordinates are in the map below. The tour is a walking distance of a little more than one fairly-level mile and lasts 60-90 minutes. You will see ten to twelve actual in-town filming locations used for shots at Forever Fab, Jimmy's, Main Street, and Clanton River Bridge. We'll end our tour in downtown Marshall where you can continue to sightsee, shop, or enjoy a meal.

Life on The Peripheral

Your tour features exclusive, on-set documentary photography of the town transformation and series filming process - taken by Madison County photographer Roger French. (Executive Producer and Director Vincenzo Natali, when asked by Roger on Twitter about the release of additional bonus content, replied, "just what I have posted on my site  but I like your presentation more.") You won't get these behind-the-scenes peeks anywhere else!
